Best Eifs Inspection & Stucco Inspection Chicago - Who We Are
Danny Boy Consulting was established in 2021 but it wasn’t my first contact with stucco business.
I’m running a very successful Company (Stucco & Beyond Inc) which installs stucco, EIFS and stone claddings for years. But while doing estimates I kept seeing older houses repaired recently with reoccurring stucco problems or new construction homes that fail within few years. I wanted to know what was causing these problems and the possible solution to them. So, it was back to the books, seminars, and even Exterior Design Institute to learn how to be a certified EIFS inspector Chicago. From that Danny Boy Consulting was born.

Why Stucco Inspection Is Important?
Over the past 30 years, stucco has been incorrectly installed on many houses, by inexperienced, poorly trained contractors. Many cases of serious water damage resulted because of the leaching of water through the stucco and into the houses. Now a stucco inspection is essential by a qualified stucco inspector if you are installing stucco, or are buying a house with stucco installed.
Stucco systems are now required to have flashing, a drainage plane to allow water movement from the stucco, and expansion and contraction joints, amongst other things. Many past installations were missing some, or all, of these things. Consequently, moisture entered and became trapped behind the stucco and then passed into the sheathing and wood framing of the houses. This caused serious water damage that had very hefty repair costs, in the region of tens of thousands of dollars.
If you are purchasing a property with stucco, it is imperative to have an EIFS stucco inspection, performed by a certified, experienced ElFS Inspector Glenview based. By having stucco testing specialists and stucco testing you can determine if there are any problems or potential problems that will need repairs and will result in hefty repair bills to be paid.

Maintenance checks are crucial for the stucco on your exterior. Having regular stucco inspectors will allow you to catch small problems before they have a chance to develop into more serious problems. Stucco minor damage can show as bubbles or cracks which are easily missed and will develop into large expensive issues as time progresses. Stucco inspectors recommend stucco inspection every 2 years for any signs of damage. You can carry out your own checks, but it is advisable to have professional experts do a thorough examination, as they are trained and experienced to notice small damage that you may miss. Which will save you time, money and stress in the long run.
Different Stucco Inspection Levels
Visual Inspection
A Visual inspection serves as the initial stage of stucco inspection. Its purpose is to identify visible signs of damage through a simple examination by a professional stucco inspector. This involves a walk around the property, seeking out any tell-tale indications of harm. Despite your best efforts, stucco testing specialists may uncover damage that you missed. Hence, it’s advisable to arrange for an official visual inspection periodically.
Non-Invasive Inspection
In Chicago, a non-invasive stucco inspection is a valuable tool for homeowners to assess the condition of their property. This level of inspection, performed by a trained stucco inspector, uses thermal imaging to identify areas of potential damage that are not visible on the surface of the walls. By detecting cool spots within the walls, a thermal camera can indicate the presence of internal moisture and the extent of any damage. If these findings are present, it’s crucial to address the issue promptly to prevent further damage. Our experienced EIFS inspectors and stucco testing specialists utilize the latest technology to perform thorough non-invasive stucco inspections and help identify any potential issues such as stucco cracks or damage in need of remediation.
Invasive Inspection
An invasive stucco inspection, performed by a professional stucco inspector, is the final step in evaluating the condition of stucco walls. This inspection involves accessing the internal structure by drilling small holes and taking moisture readings, as well as capturing images. Once the inspection is completed, the drilled holes are filled with caulk to restore the original appearance. Our certified stucco testing specialists conduct thorough and accurate invasive stucco inspections to provide a complete assessment of the condition of your property.
How To Prevent Stucco Damages
Stucco is a building material that is used as an exterior finish. It is composed of sand, water, and lime. Is commonly found on many homes and buildings. It is a durable material and if installed correctly weatherproof. It also has excellent insulation properties and is available in many styles and colors.
Stucco needs to be regularly inspected to check for damage so it can be repaired to keep it long-lasting. There are signs that you can watch out for that will indicate that your stucco has sustained damage or that there is a problem.
Cracks or damage that have newly appeared on the stucco facade is a sign that there is a problem behind the stucco. The larger the cracks the more serious the damage, but even if you see small cracks you should call in the professionals for stucco cracks home inspection.
Stucco stains can just be that the stucco needs cleaning, but they can also be indicative of water penetration or mold. You may need stucco moisture testing
Stucco moss indicates that water is pooling around the bottom of the stucco, it can be cleaned away but steps need to be taken to control how much water is pooling.
If you see indentations or soft spots in your stucco, this can be an indication that there is water damage, mold, or rot. You need to call the stucco inspectors for a stucco inspection.
